Newsletter
of International Soka Educators
The Soka
Educators' International Network is an effort to encourage one
another, discuss how to implement Soka Education principles
more deeply, begin dialogues with parents, teachers and students
on the benefits of humanistic education, and ultimately to support
Daisaku Ikeda's great effort to create a rebirth of humanistic
education.
Dr. Ikeda long ago expressed the need to have an international
conference on humanistic education. Again in August 2002, in
his proposal to the WSSD in Johannesburg, he suggested having
such a conference in 2005.
I believe this conference is vital and will help the world redefine
the purpuse of education and move towards the value-creating
definition of Soka Education -- the happiness of the individual.
This pursuit of happiness will help the world regain its balance.
I hope with this network that we can create a safety net around
the world with Soka Educators located in different countries.
If you know of a Soka Educator in another country please forward
this to her or him so we can build that net. There are also
similar education networks and networking conferences occuring
internationally that may be of interest to us to link together
with in the future.
